The Hypocritical Bollywood!

For years and years, we have been living with a deceptive interpretation of the Bollywood Industry that it is a big happy family which helps each other grow for the better. We got swayed by the emotions portrayed by them onscreen and started to believe that they are stars in real life as well, thanks to the fantastic work of eyewash done by their PR Machinery. This went on for generations until a couple of years ago, that people started to notice the hidden double standards of this industry. The public started understanding that most of these people from the same fraternity do not practice what they preach and more recently another hypocrisy that came to light was a showcase of Selective Social Activism and Outrage. These so-called celebs cleverly and selfishly choose what they want to opine on or even strongly stand for. They try to play with the emotions of people at the behest of their professional PR Agencies who make it look genuine and real.

However, the biggest Hypocrisy has just unveiled due to the current unfortunate circumstances of the death of a young, promising, intelligent and uber-talented superstar, Sushant Singh Rajput. It's been more than 2 months of relentless efforts of millions of people who came together to fight for SSR and demand a fair CBI Probe. Finally, we made it happen as the highest court of the country sealed the same with their approval stamp and now CBI has taken over the investigation. The credit for that goes to the undying efforts of the millions of people all across the globe along with few people who became the voice of the public like Arnab Goswami & Team Republic, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Ishkaran Bhandari, Kangana Ranaut and a couple of other people close to SSR. What’s difficult to miss here is, how this long struggle leading to CBI Probe helped unleash the hypocrite side of Bollywood. Barring a few genuine people from the Industry no one joined the People’s campaign to get justice for SSR, who was from their fraternity.

Their hypocrisy is more noticeable now due to a comparison that can be drawn from a very recent global campaign of Justice for George Floyd. So many celebs from the Indian Film industry in no time raised their voices and stood up for him and the racial discrimination in the United States. We saw them posting using hashtags like #JusticeForGeorgeFloyd, #BlackLivesMatter, etc. and pouring out all the empathy they could. I don’t mind that they raise their voices for such campaigns, rather it’s highly appreciated since they influence a lot of people across the globe, so I do understand that it’s important too. However, the problem arises when you see them pouring their heart out for this cause but staying shush on SSR’s untimely and mysterious demise. SSR was from their own country and a colleague/co-worker of many, yet why are they all drop dead silent?

A few people from Bollywood who recently joined the campaign, woke up presumably after seeing what happened to the Sadak 2 movie Trailer. It's out of fear of having to experience the same in the future that they chose to finally join the campaign, but little do they know that the public is not foolish enough to fall for their planned selfish motives. The response that Sadak 2 trailer received from the people was a representation of the “Power of the Common Man” which was like a slap on their faces. It’s also a lesson for not only Bollywood but also the Political Parties and the Law & Order System that if the common man can make them who they are, then the same common man can break them too, hence they should not make the mistake of underestimating us.

I'm just amazed that most of these celebrities, who posted for Black Lives Matter, in reality, endorse N number of beauty products that claim to change your skin color. These variants have different names like skin brightening, whitening, fairness, skin correcting and what not kind of creams, which do nothing permanent because they just give you an instantaneous or momentary transformation in skin color but never change it completely. And so many of these celebs, have undergone cosmetic surgeries themselves to change their facial structures and also undergone permanent skin whitening treatments. If you see the “THEN & NOW” pictures of some of these stars like Kajol, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Shilpa Shetty, Bipasha Basu, Rekha and many more like them, it's evident that they have undergone a huge transformation in skin color and appearance. This would help you clearly understand the level of “Hypocrisy” in their statements.

Instead of fighting for issues in the West, they need to end these double standards and concentrate on issues in their own country. Speak up on the similar social evils still prevalent in our society like perceptions about skin color or physical appearance. No one talks about prejudices related to matrimonial postings wherein 90% of the posts from the Bride Wanted section, ask for a “FAIR”, beautiful, slim and homely girl. Hardly any post talks about real traits like the level of education, career, moral values, intellectualism, etc. And to make things worse these celebs go ahead and change their physical appearance and skin color to the same standards which are so desirable for many. So how on earth can they preach about Racism and Bias against darker skin complexions when they got rid of their natural skin color and appearance that God gifted them at birth?

These so-called celebs have all the time in the world to post nonsensical videos of stupid challenges or life updates in general, but their social media accounts couldn’t fit in a single message of empathy and justice for SSR. They too can see how the Mumbai Police & Maharashtra Government, working hand in hand, botched up the entire case. However, they chose to remain silent because the internal connections between Bollywood & Mumbai Police are well known to everyone. The biggest proof for that is the event held every year in honor of the Mumbai Police called “Umang” in which all the big celebs take part and perform. There are a few questions related to this that boggle my mind:
1.       Do these celebs not consider any other police force in our country competent enough or worthy of praise and accolades?
2.       When they travel to other cities in India, is it the Mumbai police that accompanies and protects them everywhere, or the police of that city?
3.       And why not Maharashtra police force as a whole but just Mumbai Police?
4.       Are they trying to say that Mumbai Police is a class apart, that they can't be compared to any other police force in our country?
5.       Why not a similar enthusiasm for the Armed forces and other government wings, who are selflessly working for the betterment of our country?
6.       Why the partiality and divide?

I'm sure they would never have a suitable and fair explanation for this because everybody knows they are a part of a very closely-knit nexus operated by the underworld and the Bollywood Mafia. That is the reason why despite knowing about all the vices of the industry be it Drugs, Exploitation of New & Young talent aka Casting Couch, Nepotism to name a few, nothing surfaces as there is a solid backup to shield them all. So many actors have been involved in big crimes, but they either get acquitted from their cases or are given mild punishments that too with N number of bails or paroles. Would it be the same for the common man? The answer is a big fat NO…and these celebs despite knowing the truth don’t raise an alarm on such issues. Very conveniently they ignore it just to be in the good books of the top guns, so as to survive and co-exist, even if it is at the cost of someone's life.

Everything these Celebs do is nothing but a well-planned move by their PR agencies to eyewash the public. They would do anything to promote their movies before release and we have witnessed many such tactics. To cite a few examples, one being Deepika Padukone’s standing in solidarity with the JNU students while she was in Delhi to promote her upcoming movie Chhapaak. Would she have done it otherwise, well I don't think so. Other one, is holding placards for some serious issues or mishaps in the country but that too is for a selective few cases they choose to associate with. I haven't seen a single placard raising questions about any of the vices in the Film Industry or even for issues like movies/songs/music videos showing women as sexual objects or bimbos. No one raises these hard-hitting questions except one or two well-established people from the industry. And, talking about the current scenario, why are they dead silent in SSR’s case when people from all across the world have come together. Where are the placards, tweets, Instagram posts now?

This “chalta hai” and “hota rehta hai” attitude in our country has ruined many lives and needs to be dealt with utmost seriousness. The reason these celebs enjoy their name & fame is because of us as we have made them this successful, or they would all be still struggling. It’s high time we remove the blindfold and use our brains before blindly following any of these. I know this change won't happen overnight but every effort of change in thought process counts, going by the saying ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’. It’s high time we stop these celebrities from be-fooling us so that we support the right people who are not only talented but also genuine human beings. Let's stop wasting our hard earned money on movies or events which in reality are no good for our society. Enough is enough, so let’s wake up and take charge of our country and not get influenced by these “Impostors”.

💔 Gone But Not Forgotten 💔

"His memory and these moves will live on, Gone But Not Forgotten" ~ Reggie Miller

Words that couldn't be more apt, to sum up how a lot of people feel even after a month of Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely demise. I've never seen or experienced this kind of an impact from a public figure's passing away. This feels like a personal loss to so many, even people like me who weren't ardent fans and followers of him. MS Dhoni was the first movie where I actually noticed his potential as an actor and how impactful he was. It was difficult to differentiate if it's him or actually Dhoni himself in some of the scenes particularly. So if someone like me, who just admired his body of work, is so affected by this entire unfortunate incident, I can only imagine how his fans feel. It's hard to forget and move past that innocent smile and a face full of numerous expressions. Every time I see any clip of his even if its humorous, I end up feeling heart broken and devastated.

I am filled with a plethora of emotions, avalanching with such intensity that it's difficult to even comprehend them on my own. Even while writing this I'm trying to figure out why am I so affected but I believe writing it down will help calm this storm building up inside me. There has not been a single day since June 14th, when I have not woken up to or slept with a thought of him and the entire situation. Honestly speaking there have been times I started doubting my own mental condition as to why am I feeling this way or if I've gone completely crazy.

So after weeks of turmoil and arguments with my own self, I finally decided to pen it down but still had doubts about posting it. However, after seeing the posts, videos and reactions of a lot of people who feel the exact same way and said that they are restless and disturbed too, even after a month, I decided to post it on my blog. We all have had personal losses and the demise of SSR gives the same sort of thoughts and emotions, but the question that I always ask myself is...Why am I so affected by him and this situation when I don't even know him personally? And that is a question I can’t seem to find an answer to even after a month now. SSR is on my mind throughout the day, most of the time involuntarily. Even though there are days I firmly decide that I won't think about him or go through any content related to SSR and the entire unfortunate incident, I end up doing the opposite.

I know it's also largely because it's being discussed so much on social media, though not so much in the mainstream media. So if it's still in the limelight on social media then definitely it's happening to many other people too. It's difficult to move past this topic as it's still unsettling for many to believe that a happy and high on life person like Sushant Singh Rajput could take his own life. Also, with so many other details surfacing in the past few weeks, it’s becoming even more disturbing. Everyday some or the other observation and minute details are coming to light which only makes us believe that there is definitely some foul play involved.

Sushant Singh Rajput wasn’t like just any other superstar and I learnt this now, like many others did post his demise, after seeing his interviews and other related content. He was so well-read, intellectual, passionate, uber-talented and inquisitive about everything in life.  Every interview or any kind of media interaction just goes to show how full of life he was and with a heart so pure. It feels like a personal loss because he was one of us. A ray of hope for those who wanted to take the same path. He was an inspiration to them that in spite of being an outsider, you can still make your mark in the industry, even though 90 percent of your competitors are a product of Nepotism and not even half as talented as you. SSR was a Good Samaritan too as he was involved in multiple causes to help the needy and to top it all he never did it for the camera or Page 3 coverage. His bucket list comprised of wishes and dreams to be fulfilled not only for himself but even for others...C'mon how often do we see that happening in this materialistic world?

The last time I was so moved and deeply affected by someone's tragedy (outside of my family) was when I heard about the Nirbhaya case. I know these are two absolutely different cases but the way they affected me and many people was a lot similar. It gave me the chills literally and multiple sleepless nights. Tragedies and unfortunate incidents happen a lot, so many get reported by the hour which make us angry or sad, but very few just engross us at a personal level. SSR's untimely and mysterious demise has us all shook even though its been over a month now. I'm glad about the fact that we are a part of the advanced digital age as a result of which the intricate details surfaced online to make everyone look at this incident from a completely different perspective.

Yes, we should use this platform to raise our voice for a fair investigation and probe by the CBI, but not at the cost of crossing all boundaries of social conduct. It's absolutely okay to have suspicion but giving rape and murder threats, to people who we presumably think could be responsible for this entire tragedy, will not serve the purpose. Sushant Singh Rajput, a gem of a person that he was, would definitely not deal with a situation in this manner. And abusing someone at the behest of SSR will in no way bring peace to his soul either so do not digress from the motive to get him justice in a respectful manner.

I wish SSR had gotten this unprecedented love, support, recognition and acceptance when he was alive. May God grant peace and solace to his soul...and if the speculations being made around his sudden and untimely demise are true that it wasn't a suicide...then hope he gets justice soon. Till then let's keep him and his family in our prayers and spread positivity while eagerly waiting for July 24th to arrive when his last movie 'Dil Bechara' releases. Let's celebrate his last movie with a loud cheer and send him positive vibes because we all know by now how passionate he was about his work and wholeheartedly invested himself in every character. Keep this fight going with all your heart, without turning it into some kind of propaganda just to grab some eyeballs or likes. Fight to keep that same innocent smile, which isn't leaving our thoughts, alive on SSR's face wherever he may be!

♥ Hold My Hand ♥

When you came into my life I was nearing the brink of lost hope and despair. I had been hurt too many times to count. I had thought that I would never find the one that I could call my own. At that place and time in my life, you appeared to me like an angel.

You were so kind and caring and I wanted nothing more than to be with you. You listened to my life's trials with an open heart. You encouraged me when others said that I would fall. You walked me through my challenges and held me up so that I could stand. You loved me throughout the times when I did not love myself.

As time passed so did my fears and worries. You helped me to become stronger and more confident. Your warm and constant presence in my life reassured me that you would always be there for me no matter what happened. I can conquer anything as you walk by my side.

What words can I say that are great enough to exemplify my love for you? I cannot express them enough. You have touched my heart in so many ways. You have rained down flowers and you have showered me with your sunshine. So precious are you to my soul.

In my world, you are my hero. You are the one that brings the greatest joy to my life. My heart beats only for you and there will be no other.  You have shown me that love is real and true. I am forever yours. I surrender my heart to you, as you have given me yours. Take my hand and walk with me forever...!!!

♥ Once Upon A Time ♥

Once…She was a Dream Warrior,
She was a soul of that land, loyal to the spirit which carried her.
She had seen miracles with her bare eyes,
She had walked with angels.

Once...She was Fearless,
She was a fighter and a survivor of nightmares.
She respected fear for what fear had taught her,
She was brave in the face of her own fear.

Once…She sang like Birds,
She was free from her own sins and had no cage.
She was free in her wildness and unstoppable,
She was a beast in her own way.

But now…She’s Changed,
You can see it in her eyes and hear it in her voice.
She has forgotten who she was and who she could be,
She has gone way too far, never to return...!!!

♥ Soulmate ♥

I was living for sure, living like a flower,
Which tilts towards the ground, in its darkest hour.
There was nothing left, no happiness was there,
The chances of retrieval were very very rare.

I was disheartened with life, until one fine day,
Which brightened my life, like a new sun ray.
Love buds blossomed, in my heart again,
I could feel the sunshine, even in heavy rain.

It seemed like a dream, one can't explain,
I was totally confused, "Am I in Love again?"
Was it Love, Crush, Attraction or Infatuation?
I was troubled, with the whole situation.

He replenished me with his love and kindness,
Showed me what true love is, blew away my blindness.
I am God's most favorite child, I know for sure,
Coz I'm blessed with an angel, with a heart so pure.

I have my fingers crossed with only one prayer,
Our love grows stronger and is rarest of the rare
I want you to know, one thing clear and straight,
You're My Man, My World, and My "Eternal Soulmate"...!!!
